Mechanical Support

Walk any older roof and you'll find the mechanical units sitting on lumber. It holds water against the membrane, rots from underneath, and settles until the unit is out of level. Mechanical Support carries the unit on a heavy-duty frame set on U-Anchor® bases, clear of the roof surface and attached in place. The U-Anchor® is a component of the roof, not something sitting on top of it.

How it works

It starts with a U-Anchor®, a component of the roof, sealed watertight at the point of attachment. Everything else connects your equipment to that one point.

The anchor

The part that carries the load. A galvanized steel plate with rolled edges that protect the membrane sits under a cover membrane matched to the roofing brand, type, and color, leaving a stainless stud at the surface for everything else to bolt to. Which one you use is decided by the membrane on the building, not by the equipment.

The kit

What connects your equipment to that stud. Supplied with the solution, and sold on its own where a job needs more of them.

The fittings

HVAC clip, Unit base (by others) — fitted to the equipment itself rather than to the roof.

Why it works

WATERTIGHT
Every leg sets on a U-Anchor® base with a Compression-Free™ seal, so the roof assembly and its warranty stay intact. The unit sits clear of the membrane, so water drains under it instead of pooling around a sleeper.
ENGINEERED
Heavy-duty steel framing engineered for the unit it carries, with height, span, and leg placement set for the equipment before it ships. Galvanized throughout, so what goes up doesn't rot, settle, or need replacing on the next service cycle.
PROVEN
Installed on commercial roofs nationwide, across every common membrane. The same attachment method carrying pipe and duct on those roofs carries the equipment.
