Snow Retention

Snow builds up on a low-slope roof and then it goes all at once, over the edge and onto whatever's below. The usual fixes either bolt through the deck or sit on ballast that shifts as the load builds. Snow Retention holds the accumulation with fences attached to U-Anchor® bases, so the lateral load transfers into engineered attachment points. Each Compression-Free™ base is considered a component of the roof and included in the roof warranty.

How it works

It starts with a U-Anchor®, a component of the roof, sealed watertight at the point of attachment. Everything else connects your equipment to that one point.

The anchor

The part that carries the load. A galvanized steel plate with rolled edges that protect the membrane sits under a cover membrane matched to the roofing brand, type, and color, leaving a stainless stud at the surface for everything else to bolt to. Which one you use is decided by the membrane on the building, not by the equipment.

The fittings

SRS rail bracket, Aluminum rail, Splice rod, Retention collar, End cap, Restrictor plate, Compatible bolt and washer kit — the two-pipe fence itself, carried on the anchors and spliced along the run.

Why it works

WATERTIGHT
Every base sets with a Compression-Free™ seal and is considered a component of the roof, so the roof warranty stays intact. Nothing bolted through the deck, and no ballast that shifts as the snow load builds against it.
ENGINEERED
Fences anchored at engineered points, so the lateral load from held snow transfers into the bases rather than across the membrane. Spacing and fence height are set for the roof and the snow load it carries.
PROVEN
Installed on commercial roofs nationwide, across every common membrane. The same attachment method carrying pipe and equipment on those roofs holds the snow.
