Caribbean VA Hospital
In September 2017, the island of Puerto Rico was ravaged by two major hurricanes in a two-week span. Category 5 Hurricane Irma and its 190 mph winds swept by the main island, causing significant damage across the island. Then, less than two weeks later, Category 4 Hurricane Maria gave the island a devastating direct hit with wind speeds up to 155 mph and had the capital of San Juan in its path. The U-Anchor U-2000 did its job, holding steadfast atop the Caribbean VA Hospital in San Juan.

This was an award-winning project for Duro-Last in 2021 for Specialty Roofing. What began as a leaky roof repair and replacement, turned into a top-notch project. Duro-Last used a custom color-matched green PVC membrane for this roof by Affordable Roofing, and the Anchor Products 2-Pipe Snow Fence system was added to manage snow loads on the roof and prevent snow and ice from sliding off the roof, damaging gutters or anything on the ground.
