Hurricane Season is in Full Swing

The storms are stacking up in the Atlantic. Hurricane Elsa made her presence known in Florida in July, and now Tropical Storm Fred has made its way to the coast of the Florida panhandle and causing rain and tornadic activity through the South. Tropical Depression/Storm Grace is waiting her turn as she is tracked to invade the Gulf of Mexico and the coast of Texas.  According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the latest outlook reflects that the number of expected named storms (winds of 39 mph or greater) is 15-21, including 7-10 hurricanes (winds of 74 mph or greater), of which 3-5 could become major hurricanes (Category 3, 4, or 5 with winds 111 mph or greater). Protecting your roof becomes a high priority in preparing for such weather.

High winds and torrential downpours are a danger to any community in a storm’s path. Damages can be devastating and expensive, not to mention difficult to recover from. Rooftops are vulnerable in conditions like these. Those hurricane strength winds can not only dislodge rooftop equipment but can also toss that equipment around causing exponential damage to the roof itself.

Best methods to secure your rooftop equipmentThe U-Anchor proved its strength and stability by withstanding the gale force winds of Category 5 Hurricane Irma in 2017 at the Westin Dawn Resort in St. Maarten, as our solar mounting racks remained intact with only debris damage. The Anchor Products line of Solutions is equipped to handle your needs as you prepare to brace yourself for this, and future storm seasons. Learn more about what Solutions are right for you. According to the reports from NOAA, atmospheric and oceanic conditions remain conducive for an above-average hurricane season. Is your roof ready?
